Mission and Goals
Mission
It is time to end the stigma and shame surrounding talking about one’s mental health. We need to remove the fear in asking for help, or going to therapy. This leads to many people suffering alone in silence. Our mission is to get people talking. This will help them start to be vulnerable, address their emotions, connect with others, create a support system, and start their journey to growth and healing. Sharing our own honest stories, and using our skills around baking and tarot, we will show different possible paths for growth and healing. Asking for help, or attending therapy, are hard to do, but there is no shame. The journey is difficult and long, with set backs, and hard work, but it does not have to be done alone.
Goals:
Help break the stigma and shame around talking about mental health, asking for help, and attending therapy. These do not make you weak.
Get 10,000 people talking!
Provide as much of this as possible for little or no cost.
Hold and start open conversations to show people it is okay to talk about their feelings and struggles
Use baking a batch of cookies as a way to start a conversation while at the same time building a person’s own self confidence
Create a safe and comfortable space to connect and share with others
Bring these messages to as many people as we can
Donate a percentage of profits to help others (donate therapy sessions, donate to non-profits, other)
Why not a Non-Profit?
Based on our research the requirements to maintain 501(c)(3) status (being a non-profit) prevent the mission from being accomplished
We want to start now. There’s no guarantee you will be granted 501(c)(3)
Knowing most non-profits are expected to use at least 70% of their revenue it leaves a lot of them spending a lot of time on fundraising and grant writing. To us this is time better spent on focusing on the mission
We can pivot to a non-profit, or B-Corp at a later point, and it is not out of the realm of possibility.
